Adorno’s involvement in the New Acropolis Museum was a major challenge that gave us the opportunity to bring our vision to life. From start to finish, every decision was made with confidence and expertise, ensuring that the spaces serve visitors and highlight the heart of Greece’s cultural heritage.
Vision and Preparation
Our goal was to create spaces that combine aesthetics, functionality, and timelessness. We carefully studied the architectural vision of Bernard Tschumi and Michalis Fotiadis to ensure that every intervention aligned with the museum’s clean lines, transparency, and natural light. Each decision was the result of research, planning, and thoughtful consideration, ensuring that design and functionality perfectly serve the visitor.
Materials and Collaborations
For a project of this scale, quality was non-negotiable. We selected durable, high-standard materials, ideal for high-traffic areas, and collaborated with companies known for reliability and expertise, such as STUA, renowned for minimalist design and long-lasting products. The New Acropolis Museum was a project that highlighted our experience and know-how, with every step executed with confidence and precision.
The Spaces We Created
Adorno was responsible for designing key hospitality and functional areas of the museum:
- Reading Room, a calm space for study and focus, designed with comfort and elegance.
- Libraries, combining functionality and aesthetics, creating an inspiring environment.
- VIP and Board Rooms, carefully designed for meetings and formal events, with discreet elegance.
- Outdoor Area, furnished with pieces that withstand time and weather, without losing style.
- Restaurant, blending a culinary experience with stunning views of the Acropolis.
- Café, where comfort and simplicity enhance the visitor experience.
A Project That Stands Out
For Adorno, the New Acropolis Museum was an opportunity to show that contemporary design can stand respectfully alongside timeless heritage, with confidence, responsibility, and pride. A project that came to life and will remain a landmark in our journey.
